Shimeji Mushrooms
Our Shimeji Mushrooms (Hypsizygus Tesselatus) are native to East Asia. They are cultivated in temperate climates around Europe, Australia and North America but may also be found in the wild, growing on fallen beech trees, hence their more commonly known name, “Beech Mushroom”.
Shimeji Mushroom Uses
Our Shimeji Mushrooms are a delicious addition to any soup, stew, noodle, salad or rice dish, Shimeji mushrooms are an integral part of Japanese cuisine. Both their caps and stalks are edible. The mushrooms can be stir-fried, roasted, steamed, sautéed and even pickled.
